Sports Evangelism. In the desert.
For Christ and Casa Esperanza.
In an effort to maximize our evangelistic opportunities, Real Life Ministries launched a sports evangelism program in 2013. The H12:One racing team, led by Dennis Hollenbeck, participates in many races in Baja California, including the Baja 500 and 1000. The racing program has initiated many gospel conversations with race participants and observers alike.
The name is taken from Hebrews 12:1: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Casa Esperanza is a shelter for victims of drug abuse and domestic violence. More than a place to sleep, the casa provides a place of spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. Women are taught employment skills, counseled in principles of godly living, and encouraged to find joy and hope in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes! Every dusty mile of racing depends on our generous sponsors. Would you like to “ride Baja” with us? Please fill out our official sponsor form, or donate to the H12:One Team today.
Our mission is to create a race team of Christian believers and friends to benefit the unfortunate woman & children of Casa Esperanza located in Baja California, and to look for opportunities to share and serve the communities that we race in.
We primarily race in the three main SCORE races in Baja: the San Felipe 250, the Tecate Baja 500, and the “granddaddy of them all,” the Baja 1000.
Our car of choice is the VW Stock 1600, Class 11, the “Heart and Soul” of the Baja racetrack. There isn’t a bigger heart on the track (just bigger cars).
Every dusty mile of racing depends on our generous sponsors and donors.
