You can help Real Life Ministries build for eternity by partnering with our house building ministry.
Las Tres Palmas, a ministry of Real Life Ministries, focuses on helping build homes for the homeless in Mexico. Not 90 minutes from San Diego beaches, thousands of Ensenada residents lack basic shelter and four walls to call home. Under the direction of Dennis Hollenbeck, RLM seeks to alleviate this problem, one home at a time.
Since 1996, RLM has built sturdy homes for more than 400 families. The homes are built by teams sent from partner churches in the United States and Canada. A complete 24’x24′ two bedroom project will cost $13,500.00, and this includes all the materials, tools and supervised help to complete the project. A 24’x34′ 3 bedroom will cost $18,500.00. Accommodations and Food are a separate fee, and all details can be frond at www.ltpalmas.org
Yes! Depending on the makeup of your group, there are two options for partnering with us. First, anyone with a drill and a smile can participate in our Home Building Project. These projects require no special skill, strength, or experience. In fact, many of our volunteers have no prior construction experience. Second, if your group has lots of prior construction experience, we can use your skills to assist with more difficult projects.
Generally, a home building project takes 4 days to complete.
Come anyway! Many of our volunteers have no construction experience.
For a group of fifteen, a five-day trip costs approximately $6,000. This cost includes room, board, and the cost of the building materials (currently $3,500, though subject to fluctuation).
Yes. Passports are not only required for your return trip into the United States, but the Mexican Government requires a US Passport in order to complete the Mexican FMM Tourist Visa that is required for legal entry and travel while in Mexico. With a 7 day trip, the FMM is free, but it must acquired at the Mexican Immigration Office upon entry into Mexico. Please contact us directly if you have questions or concerns regarding your US Passports, or Mexican FMM, dennisltp@ltpalmas.org
